Arrange Automatic Bill Payment for your Internet service, wireless/home phone, cable/satellite TV, newspaper, insurance and more. If your biller is not listed, simply contact them via the information on your monthly statement to ask whether they accept automatic payments from Discover Card.

What information might a biller request?

Billers generally ask for the following information:

When do my payments switch to Automatic Bill Payment?

Your payments will continue on your normal due date with your biller until they start charging your Discover Card automatically. Continue paying as you have previously until you see charges appear on your Discover Card statement or your biller informs you they have started charging your Discover Card.

Will I still receive a bill when I use Automatic Bill Payment?

Billers typically continue to send a bill with the total amount they will charge to your Discover Card account. Some billers, however, may allow you to receive an online bill or no bill at all. Of course, your Discover Card monthly statement or online statement will provide you with a convenient, thorough record of charges to your Discover Card account.

How many billers can I have with Auto Bill Pay?

There is no limit to the number of billers that can charge automatic payments to your Discover Card. Keep in mind, however, there may be a limit to overall charges to your Discover Card account if bills exceed your credit limit.

What if my Discover Card account number or expiration date changes?

If you have any Automatic Bill Payments set up with Discover Card, we will attempt to update your account number and expiration date with these merchants.

What if my bill amount changes?

If you've established one-time bill payment, you will see the new bill amount before you pay. If you sign up for Automatic Bill Payments, you will pre-select one of the following options:

  1. Pay the full amount of your bill each month even if it changes.
  2. Pay a fixed amount and be credited for overpayment.

What should I do if an Automatic Bill Payment charge on my Discover Card account statement is incorrect?

If you have a question about the amount or frequency of the charge, contact your service provider immediately to resolve payment discrepancies. As always, if you do not recognize a biller on your statement or have a concern about a transaction, you can call Discover Card Customer Service at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683), or send a secure message through one of the online forms under "Statement-Related Requests" in the Customer Service area of the Account Center.
