How do I earn Miles?
As a Miles cardmember, you belong to the most flexible Miles program offered by a no-annual-fee card. Whether you’re having a family dinner or traveling for business, you’ll get Double Miles on up to $3,000 in travel and restaurant purchases each year. And you’ll get 1 Mile for every $1 you spend on all your other purchases.
Eligible travel purchases include commercial airline tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, cruises, tour operators and vacation packages purchased through travel agents, and online travel sites. Eligible restaurant purchases include those made at full-service restaurants, cafes, cafeterias and fast food locations.
How do I redeem my Miles?
You can redeem your Miles how you want, when you want—select a gift card from more than 90 brand-name Partners, choose a Discover Gift Card, make a charitable donation, apply a travel credit to your account or receive cash. Your Miles work with your schedule, too—redeem them 24/7 online, or call 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683).
Is there a cap to the number of Miles I can earn?
There is NO cap on the number of Miles you can earn—every family dinner and getaway provides you with an opportunity to earn more Miles, so they add up faster.
Will my Miles expire?
Your Miles won’t expire as long as you use your credit card. However, if your account is closed, is in default or is inactive for longer than three years, you may forfeit some or all of your Miles. You can log in to the Account Center to see the Miles Program Terms and Conditions for additional information.
Where do I find the number of Miles I have to redeem?
You can always see how many Miles are available for redemption under "Current Miles Balance" on the first page of your monthly Miles by Discover Card Statement. Or, log in to the Account Center to view your Miles statement online. Not registered for the Account Center? Register now
For new purchases, when will I see the Miles on my statement?
New Miles earned will appear on the first page of each monthly statement. You can view your Miles by logging in to the Account Center and going to your Statements page. The most recent statement will reflect the total number of Miles Available to Redeem, as of that statement. Not registered for the Account Center? Register now.
Are there blackout dates or advanced bookings for air travel?
There are NO blackout dates or advanced bookings—NO restrictions period.
Can I transfer Miles from another card or frequent flier program to my Miles Card account?
No, you can’t transfer Miles. But you’ll be earning new Miles so quickly, they’ll add up before you know it.
If I report my Discover Card lost or stolen and am reissued a new card, will my Miles be transferred to my new account?
Yes. We will automatically transfer your Miles to your new Miles Card account.
What can I redeem my Miles for?
You can redeem your Miles faster, with more great options.
Travel: Book your travel the way you want. Redeem 10,000 Miles and get a $100 travel credit to your account toward a travel purchase. Just remember to redeem your Miles within 90 days after the date your travel purchase posts to your account.
Partner Gift Card: Redeem for Partner gift cards from over 90 brand-name Partners, starting at 1,000 Miles.
Discover Gift Card: Redeem your reward for a Discover Gift Card, good wherever Discover Card is accepted, starting at 5,000 Miles
Donate to Charity: Donate to charity and give back starting at 5,000 Miles
Cash: Redeem for a direct deposit to your bank account or a Discover account credit starting at 5,000 Miles

Do I have to redeem my Miles on specific airlines?
Your Miles program is flexible—book any airline, any flight, an aisle or window seat—it’s up to you. All you have to do is pay with your Miles Card when you are booking your flight, and redeem for travel credits when the transaction posts to your account.
What if the cost of my travel purchase(s) is greater than my travel credit?
The travel credit to your account is for the amount of the travel purchases(s) you are redeeming against.
If the cost of a travel purchase is greater than the amount of the overall travel credit available to you, you may pay for the remaining balance with your Miles Card. A travel purchase can only be redeemed against once.
How do I redeem for a travel credit?
Redeeming for a travel credit is easy:
- Choose your travel—any airline, cruise, vacation package, hotel or car rental.
- Book it—through any airline, travel agent or online travel site.
- Pay—with your Miles Card.
- Redeem—your accumulated Miles for travel credits to your account.
Just remember to redeem your Miles within 90 days after the date the travel purchases post to your account.
Here's how it works: you have 10,000 Miles available to redeem. You purchase a $200 airline ticket. Once it posts to your account you can call 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) and redeem for a $100 travel credit.

How do I apply for the Miles by Discover Card?
You can apply online for the Miles Card or over the phone by calling 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683).
How can I find out the status of my Miles by Discover Card application?
It can take up to 30 days to process an application. If 30 days has passed since you applied, please call us toll free at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) to find out the status of your application.
Why do I need to activate my new Discover Miles Card?
The activation process is a security measure. When you call us to activate your Card, we will ask you to provide your personal information. This is how we ensure that you, not others, are using your Card. To make the activation process as quick as possible, please call us from your home phone. For security purposes, if you receive multiple Card packages in the mail, you will need to activate each one separately.
Can I request an additional Miles by Discover Card online?
In Customer Service within the Account Center, you can request new designs for your Card, add an Authorized User to your Account or request a replacement for a worn or damaged Card. Just log in to the Account Center, go to Customer Service and choose either the “Request or Replace a Card” link or “Add a Person to Your Account” link under Account-Related Requests.
How can I get cash with my Miles by Discover Card?
You can get cash at over 150,000 Discover Cash Network ATMs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All you need is your PIN and your Discover Miles Card. You can also stop in at one of more than 58,000 participating banks and financial institutions for quick cash using your Card and photo ID. How can I request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for ATMs and cash advances?
Please call us at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) from your home telephone. A Customer Service representative will ask you a few questions and process your request. PINs may be requested only by telephone at this time.
What should I do if my Miles by Discover Card is lost or stolen?
Call us immediately at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) to report the Card’s loss or theft. We will close your Account and reissue you a new Account number and Card(s). If your lost/stolen Discover Card is registered at the Account Center, you’ll need to re-register when your new Card arrives in the mail.
If you use our Auto Bill Pay online service, we will contact your biller directly to inform them of your new Account number and expiration date.
If you have set up automatic payments directly with billers outside of the Auto Bill Pay service, you will need to contact them with your new Account number and expiration date.
Can I change my address, phone number and e-mail address online?
Yes. Log in to the Account Center, go to Personal Profile, and then click on “Update Your Personal Information.” You can change your Account information in addition to managing other aspects of your Account. Not registered for the Account Center? Register now.
How can I request a credit limit increase?
Please call us at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683). A Customer Service representative will ask you a few questions and process your request. Credit limit increases may be requested only by telephone at this time.

Authentic e-mails from Discover Card will come from one of these five addresses:
